    Corner structures: Quoins are square cut, regular, and tooled.

    Mortar application and content: Vertical, slight embellishment. Vertical pyramids. Vertical mortar is depressed below the top horizontal and cut off above the lower.

    A two story house on Smith Rd. has three sides constructed with red smooth rounded stones laid five courses to a quoin in front and four on the sides. Quoins are square cut and regular.     This Greek Revival-style house at 983 Smith Road was built by Charles Harmon of lake-washed red cobblestones in 1842. It is well preserved. It includes a charming cobblestone smoke house. It was placed on the National Register in 2002. Richard Palmer blog.
